I know! The twins were my favorite characters. I told myself before-hand that I was alright with them living, and alright with them both dying (in a very going down together Gideon and Fabian-style sort of thing, in fact I was sure it was coming), but I kept saying that if she just killed one of them it would be beyond terrible and awful, and I couldn't bear it. :(
