For anyone still tromping through the swamps o' Microsoft Office and the not-so-helpful Clippit, you can download the just-as-good (and sometimes better!) OpenOffice.org right here!!

1. In Microsoft Word, someone has typed:

For years, I dreaded the sight of you.
Yet wherever I went, you were there.
I wished you would just go away.
When I banned you from my house, you showed at my school.
I did everything I could, but there you were.
You even found me at work.
But today, I'm done. Finished. We are over, FOREVERRR.

2. The pest of a virtual office assistant known as Clippit pops up in the corner. The letter can be seen in the background, and he is not-so-helpfully saying, "It looks like you're writing a vaguely threatening farewell letter. Would you like help?"

3. Someone explodes into a rage off-camera, we see a red starburst filled with "AARRRRRGRHHHGHGHGHG!!!"

4. Clippit's eyebrows have furrowed, his black eyes have filled with red, and he sits above a background of flames. "You can close the window, but I'll still be waiting. You can't get rid of me. Try me, I dare you."

5. Clippit looks rather distressed as the off-camera hand approaches his computer screen, ready to pluck him right out.

6. Now Clippit is a real-life paperclip, with taped on eyebrows and googly-eyes, plucked right out of the screen. "...I didn't know you people could do that."

7. The off-screen person is making a threatening fist in the foreground, as Clippit sits on the floor in the background. In a mocking voice he says, "It looks like you're trying to punch a paper clip."

8. The off-screen person erupts into a starburst of anger again. "RAAAAFAGAHSGFHDFGD!!!"

9. The person is holding clippit above a light lighter, the flame licking at Clippt's scrawny metal frame. "Would you like help with that?"

10. This time, the person really rages, their anger starburst looking more like a supernova. "GRAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!"

11. Clippit is on a plate now, looking very nervous. A microwave is seen in the background. "Not a good idea..."

12. The microwave crackles with a brilliant, violent lightning storm.

13. Clippit is looking frustrated and rather scotched as swirls of smoke rise off him. He sighs. "When will you learn?"

14. Again, someone has typed into Microsoft Word:

...

That does it.

15. Clippit is clearly panicked. He pleads, "No wait!! I can change! I can actually help instead of annoying you every time you start a paragraph, I--!!"

16. A window of the OpenOffice.org 3.0 Installation Wizard is on the screen, with the 'Complete' option selected.

17. Where Clippit was, is now a cartoon cloud with the word "POOF" exploding across it.

18. Someone has typed, this time in OpenOffice, "And they all typed ever after. :)"

Luckily, he doesn't seem to be around in my Word. Maybe they finally disabled him after multiple people smashed their monitors in rage. :D

I noticed he's not around as much any more! Though he sometimes manages to haunt me when I need to use a school computer. -__-

Hah! I love the lightening in the microwave. Too funny.
And man, that clip-man is soooo annoying.

Metal in the microwave is kind of terrifying! But actually kind of pretty, too.

Kill me for saying this, but I missed the annoying paper clip when I upgraded to word 2007. He was a cute mascot!

The paperclip is definitely annoying. I use the kitty version, mainly because it's the only way I can turn off the alert sounds.
