I usually cycle through three or four entry ideas.
Of them, one is usually rejected outright for not really having any 'bite' to it, another is just WAY too big for my abilities/patience, one is a neat idea which is hard for me to approach and the final is the one that lends itself to multi-paragraph ideas.
