I has a secret.

I eat too much fast food. -__-
I know it's bad for me and bad for the planet, b-but. I like french fries and pizza and milkshakes. But really? It's uck. It doesn't even taste that good. But it's easy and fast and lazy cat is lazzzzy.
THEREFORE! I am pledging, right in front of all of Livejournal to eat better. No more fast food. And if I want cookies or candy? I make it myself.
On the upside, this may result in more baking expeditions! PX Hokay, so homemade brownies mebbe aren't much better for *me* than storebought goodies, BUT it's prolly better for the planet? Not to mention waaaay more fun.
And I'm determined to make veggies and fruits my friends again! I don't chat with cherries or play with pineapples enough. It may take longer, but it's so, so, so much tastier and healthier and prolly even cheaper.
Speaking of cheaper...I bet I spend about 25 dollars on fast food a month.
So, I've decided to do something kinda...advent calendary. You know those Christmas calendars with a bunch of little doors with chocolates or little gizmos behind them? I've always loved those! ^^
So! For every week that I eat better (and I will track it ~every~ day), I will get myself a little prize. Something cute and fun and silly around 5 dollars. I dunno what yet but it'll prolly be some kinda toy. 'Cause if there's one thing I love more than noms, it's toys.
Cooking will be fun and eating better will be fun. And the little toys will be fun! I can't lose!
XDDD

Date: 2009-10-25 07:41 am (UTC)"The first time I was struck with something, a chicken breast from Kenny Rogers. I was standing next to a garbage pail. I thought it might've been an accident, that they were throwing it out. The second time, it hit me square on the chin, a soft taco. Then, pop. A falafel. McNuggets. Always fast food. Fast food. Shit people would rather throw out than finish. It's easy. It tastes all right, but it doesn't really provide you any nourishment. ...I'm fast food."

Date: 2009-10-25 03:47 pm (UTC)And plus, the baking season is upon us -- I just looked @ this recipe I got last year for this amazing pumpkin bread (my co-worker brought it into work a few times last fall), and I realized I just needed to buy the pumpkin part! :D
Hooray for baking!
