In the light of the moon, a little egg lay on a leaf.

One Sunday morning the warm sun came up and-pop!-out of the egg came a tiny and very hungry caterpillar.

But he wasn't hungry for one apple, two pears or even three plums. He wasn't hungry for a piece of chocolate cake, an ice cream cone, a pickle, a slice of salami or even a nice green leaf.

He was hungry for adventure!

So on Monday, he learned to race dirt bikes. But he was still hungry.

On Tuesday, he hitchhiked through Idaho. But he was still hungry.

On Wednesday, he toured continental Europe in an all-star, bugrock band. But he was still hungry.

On Thursday, he made the Guinness Book of World Records for longest antennae. But he was still hungry.

On Friday, he made his big screen debut in a buddy cop action movie starring Samuel L. Jackson. But he was still hungry.

On Saturday, he traveled back in time where he saved the dinosaurs and stopped World War Two.

The next day was Sunday again. The caterpillar wasn't hungry anymore, and he wasn't a little caterpillar. He was a huge, monstrous caterpillar, forgotten by evolution!

He built a house, called a cocoon, around himself. He stayed inside for more than two weeks.

Then he nibbled a hole in the cocoon, pushed his way out and...

he was a tiny caterpillar again, hungry for more adventures!
