The Secret Life of the Very, Very, VERY Hungry Caterpillar

A little white egg sits on a big green leaf with a moon in the sky

In the light of the moon, a little egg lay on a leaf.

A little green caterpillar with a red face, happy looking eyes and purple antennae is crawling near a bright orange rising sun

One Sunday morning the warm sun came up and-pop!-out of the egg came a tiny and very hungry caterpillar.

A pear, an apple and a strawberry ice cream cone with a crossed-out sign

But he wasn't hungry for one apple, two pears or even three plums. He wasn't hungry for a piece of chocolate cake, an ice cream cone, a pickle, a slice of salami or even a nice green leaf.

The caterpillar is wearing a superhero cape and there is a rainbow of stars behind him

He was hungry for adventure!

The caterpillar sits on a green dirt bike wearing a blue helmet

So on Monday, he learned to race dirt bikes. But he was still hungry.

The little caterpillar is near a blue semi truck, sitting on a picture of the state of Idaho

On Tuesday, he hitchhiked through Idaho. But he was still hungry.

The caterpillar is playing a red guitar, with an ant playing a drum kit and a honey bee at the microphone!

On Wednesday, he toured continental Europe in an all-star, bugrock band. But he was still hungry.

The caterpillar sits on a skyscraper and his antennae drape down the sides

On Thursday, he made the Guinness Book of World Records for longest antennae. But he was still hungry.

The caterpillar is back-t-back with Samuel L. Jackson. They are both holding guns and wearing leather jackets, looking very action-y.

On Friday, he made his big screen debut in a buddy cop action movie starring Samuel L. Jackson. But he was still hungry.

The caterpillar is crawling next to a brontosaurus and there is a trap-net filled with WW2 pictures, like a bomber plane, a picture of Hitler and a map of invaded countries

On Saturday, he traveled back in time where he saved the dinosaurs and stopped World War Two.

The caterpillar is huge and takes up more than the image. There is a little thought bubble that says: Maybe saving the Dinosaurs wasn't such a great idea...

The next day was Sunday again. The caterpillar wasn't hungry anymore, and he wasn't a little caterpillar. He was a huge, monstrous caterpillar, forgotten by evolution!

There is a large brown and grey cocoon attached to a green leaf

He built a house, called a cocoon, around himself. He stayed inside for more than two weeks.

A close-up of the cocoon, with a small grey hole emerging on the side of it

Then he nibbled a hole in the cocoon, pushed his way out and...

The caterpillar is normal-sized again, and there's a word bubble that reads: Butterflies are overrated!

he was a tiny caterpillar again, hungry for more adventures!

Why are you such a genius, Cat? Is it because you are short for caterpillar? How do I get to be like you?

I'm torn too! On one hand, listening to a bee singer would be AMAZING, on the other...Samuel L. Jackson! XD

I live this, I truly hate the Cult of the Very Hungry Caterpillar. Mostly becasue whenever I try to look at it with my son he looks at me, gives me the most French shoulder shrug he can muster and says "No no no. Tyhmä."

Tyhmä is stupid in Finnish.
